About Happily Decluttered

Background

My decluttering journey started in 2015 when I was preparing a room for my first child. Bargain shopping was my hobby and I had accumulated LOTS of stuff! I chose the closet as my starting point in the room that would soon be a nursery. It didn’t take long to realize that most of the contents were things I didn’t need. I didn’t realize it at the time, but this project was my first step in becoming Happily Decluttered.

Mindset Shift

After I was done with the project, I felt better, lighter. I continued working through sections of my house, decluttering more and more. With every item I removed, I felt like I was gaining something better. Almost immediately, I started seeing and feeling the benefits of decluttering.

Pass It On

I started Happily Decluttered so I could share what I learned and make the decluttering process easier for others. Using my background in education, I discovered that I could help others remove clutter and teach them best practices simultaneously.

My Approach

Through practice, I have learned ways to blend frugal thinking, minimalist ideas, and an environmentally-conscious outlook. I don’t strive to make my home, or anyone else’s, look like a picture out of a magazine. My goal is to keep the things that serve a purpose and remove the clutter that distracts from what’s important. Focusing on this creates a home that is easier to maintain.

Decluttering my home, as well as other aspects of my life, has freed up my time and energy. I now have a stress-free home and more time to spend with the people I love, doing the things I love! Together we can work on addressing your clutter so you can be your happiest too! I would love to help you become Happily Decluttered.
