Do overflowing piles of to-do lists, sticky notes, and random scraps of paper make you feel constantly bombarded? Wish you could trade that chaos for calm, control, and productivity? An all-in-one note system might be the answer!
Create an All-in-One Note System
- Select a notebook: Find one that fits your style and needs. Opt for good paper that won’t bleed through or easily fall out. Consider binding too! I personally like coil binding because it lays flat for easy note-taking.
- Create and label different pages: Don’t let your notes become a jumbled mess! Dedicate each page to a distinct project, topic, or list. Some headings you might use include grocery list, Florida vacation plans, or birthday party to-do list.
- Schedule schedule schedule: Be your future self’s hero! Decide in advance when you will complete some of the items on your lists. I schedule reccuring calendar tasks for certain topics and the rest I take care of during my weekly clean up time.
- Clean up regularly: Don’t let outdated notes drag you down! Schedule regular “purge” sessions to discard irrelevant info and keep your lists current. Maybe you do a monthly clean-up or tackle it after completing a project. Find a system that works for you! Every Friday, I sit down and pay my bills and handle my paper tasks. I take a few minutes to scan, update, and purge my notes during this time.

Remember, the most important thing is to find a system that works for you and stick with it. By implementing an all-in-one note system, you can keep your paper notes organized and effectively capture your thoughts and ideas.

It’s always a good idea to declutter.
Indeed. Simplifying keeps life moving smoothly!
I think you wrote this one for me. I need that notebook and not for my next novel but to be able to find things. Currently out of control.
Small notes seem to multiple over night. Keeping things together and categorized helps bring control to the process. Make sure you have a set time (or multiple times) each week to review your notes and check things off!
