If you read The Face Behind Happily Decluttered section on my website you already know a little bit about me but I wanted to take this opportunity to share more and explain why I decided to start blogging.
Who am I?
My name is Suzanne. I enjoy working in my garden and flower beds, going camping, and spending time with my family. I am a stay-at-home mom with three girls and I am happily married to my graphic designer husband. We live in central Pennsylvania, USA with our dog, Lex.
Why decluttering?
For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed tidying up my space. When I was a kid, I have memories of clearing off the dressers in my room and organizing my stuff out of sight so I could enjoy the clear, open space. I always enjoyed cleaning and organizing for the result it produced but I didn’t realize there was an important aspect I was missing. It wasn’t until 2015 when I started purposely removing things from my home that I realized I didn’t need to spend so much time cleaning and organizing if there was just less stuff. I went through my entire home and decluttered boxes of unused belongings and pieces of furniture that were just taking up space. The benefits were immediate! I felt happier, less stressed, and more comfortable in my own home.
Since 2015, I have read lots of great books on decluttering and I have challenged myself to continue to find areas that I can declutter to simplify my life. Check out a previous post, I am thankful for being decluttered, to see some of the ways decluttering has impacted me.
Why blogging?
One of my 2020 New Year’s resolution goals was to begin to build a decluttering business. For several years, I have had friends ask for my decluttering advice and many family members have encouraged me to consider starting my own business. I started 2020 off with a list of ideas and began my research. With Covid, the idea of helping people to declutter face-to-face became less and less of an option. As the year went on, I found myself writing down ideas I would tell people once I was finally able to get started. I forget exactly how the idea of blogging finally came to me but once the idea entered my mind it seemed like the most logical thing to do. It was a way for me to get decluttering tips out of my head and organize them in a way that was helpful (hopefully) and accessible to others. Check out my first post-Decluttering: Now or Never.
Let me know what questions you have about decluttering! If you have any specific areas that are most challenging for you, leave a comment or contact me. I would love to write a post that can help you get one step closer to being free of clutter.

Hi Suzanne, and thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself! Like, you I have always been an organizer but I’ve really only discovered decluttering in the last couple of years. It felt like a natural evolution in my desire for a more eco-friendly, sustainable life. I still have work to do – but I think it’s an ongoing process – and I an excited to share my tips during this year’s decluttering challenge on my blog. I look forward to reading your tips and ideas too!. We can all learn a lot from each other.
I agree it is an ongoing process! I’m excited to hear your tips. I always love reading your posts.😁😁
Lovely to be able to put a face to the name! Minimalism is an incredible way of life and I can’t imagine how lost I was before I discovered it. By the way, you’re beautiful Suzanne!
Thanks! I truly enjoy the simplicity of a less cluttered lifestyle and I have been having fun writing about it. 😁
I love how you tapped into your own niche and are very passionate about what you write 🙂
Thanks! I love that I can be passionate about decluttering through my blog and have others enjoy it. In real life, I need to tone it down a little.😁😁
