Are Your Commitments Worth It?

Between work, hobbies, home projects, school activities, family functions, volunteering, sports, etc. a lot is being asked of us. Many times we mindlessly say ‘yes’ to most things, if not everything. But every time we say ‘yes’ to a commitment we have to remember that we are saying ‘no’ to something else.

Before adding a commitment to your schedule, take an extra second and ask yourself if it is worth it.

Not all of us will come to the same conclusion about if a commitment is worth it or not because we all have different priorities and goals. But, we should be thinking about those priorities and goals before we say ‘yes’.

Weigh the pros and cons of what is taking up your time. Do your commitments align with your goals and priorities?

  1. Lately I’ve been thinking how important it is to value our time, because we tend to act as though we have all the time in the world, but once we realise that each minute is another minute we won’t get back, it becomes important to evaluate our commitments. Thanks for this post!
