*One of my 2021 goals was to keep a Happiness Highlights journal. I plan on sharing some of my happy moments each month to hold myself accountable. I hope they help you pause and recognize all the great small things that are happening in your life.*
I can’t believe that June is almost over! What a fun month it has been. We have had lots of warm weather so our days have been filled with swimming, biking, walking, pickleball, and playgrounds.
June Happiness Highlights:
- Helping a friend with their garden and flowerbeds.
- Visiting with an out-of-state cousin.
- Listening to What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong.
- Finding a granola bar recipe my girls enjoyed making and eating.
- Picking raspberries.
- Reading in my hammock.
Do you have any Happiness Highlights from your month that you would like to share? If you wrote a post about something that brought you joy, include a link!
June was a big month in our house. My younger daughter graduated high school, my older daughter turned 21, and I celebrated my 10 year cancerversary. Unfortunately, all our celebrations were low key because of the pandemic.
Wow! June was a big month for you! Sounds like there was a lot to celebrate.😁 Congrats to you and your youngest and Happy Birthday to your oldest.
Reading in a hammock sounds glorious. The rest of it too, but I’ve never had a hammock. Maybe one day when I grow up… haha! June has been a month of glorious sunrises and lots of early birds singing. Since the mornings are still cool enough to enjoy the outdoors, they have been my happiness highlight 😀
The hammock is pretty awesome. I just have to get to it first before my oldest jumps in to read. Being outside always brings me joy too. Thanks for sharing!
Picking raspberries and reading in a hammock? Ooooh how nice!
My June highlights were finally buying cutlery 7 months after moving into my house, moving into my daughter’s bed (awesome winter cuddles to keep her warm) and starting a running programme 😊
That sounds awesome. Thanks for sharing!
My June highlights were finishing three big assignments, settling into trimester two of college, going out for dinner with family a few times and so on! x
Yay! Lots of great moments! Here’s to a happy July as well!
Picking raspberries was one of my childhood memories. I love raspberries! Never had a hammock but I remember how much fun those were too. Now I want a hammock and a bowl of fresh raspberries!
June highlights: My son turned 1 month old so we celebrated it with cake from Costco. We didn’t feel like making one and splurged on that! My preschooler went on a plane to visit her grandparents and is having a blast with her uncle, aunts, and grandparents right now. My husband got a fish aquarium and we decorated it to make it look like an underwater coral reef.
It sounds like you have had an awesome June! Thanks for sharing your highlights.
Lovely highlights, as always, Suzanne! I’d say maybe the biggest highlight of my month has been climbing twice a week again, after a hiatus of almost a year. I cannot tell you how good it makes me feel! Enjoy the holiday weekend with your fam! 🌞
That is great that you have been able to get back into a climbing routine again. It sounds like something you deeply enjoy.
Happy 4th to you as well!
I would be very interested in the granola bar recipe – keen to try some new recipes :). Sounds like a great month for you! It’s winter in Australia right now so I am jealous of your warm weather and summer activities. My highlight of the month has been having a new colleague start at my work who I am getting along with really well, and hoping will become a good friend!
Granola bars
11oz granola or 16oz oats
1 c peanut butter
2/3 c of honey
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 c chocolate chips
Mix all ingredients and press into a baking sheet with sides (or sometimes I even use muffin pans) Chill for a least 1 hr and then cut.
That is exciting that someone new is working with you who could become a potential friend!
Gratefulness is Happiness. Thank you for today’s precious inspiration.
I’m glad you enjoyed my post. Thanks for reading!
Sounds like you had an amazing June! I always wanted to make granola bars! and reading in a hammock — how divine!
The granola bars were easier and yummier then I expected! Reading in a hammock is one of my favorite things right now. I hope you are having a wonderful July!
