*One of my 2021 goals was to keep a Happiness Highlights journal. I plan on sharing some of my happy moments each month to hold myself accountable. I hope they help you pause and recognize all the great small things that are happening in your life.*
My Happiness Highlights:
- Planting some mums for fall.
- Being able to volunteer at my daughter’s school for environment day.
- Getting my hands dirty while digging up worms to show the school kids.
- Sharing a big bowl of nachos from a food truck with my girls.
- Seeing the full moon against a black, clear sky.
- Listening to the leaves crunching on a nature walk.
Moving forward, Iβm going to dedicate a section of all of my happiness highlights posts to allow YOU to share some of your happiness highlights as well. If you would like to join in on the happiness, simply send me 5 to 7 of your recent happiness highlights. I will include them along with a link back to your site in a future post.
Your Happiness Highlights
This month, I’m excited to share Stuart’s Happiness Highlights. I stumbled upon Stuart’s blog, Your Friendly Malaysian Writer, about a month ago and I just love his writing style. Stuart’s posts are packed with useful writing tips and are so fun to read. Read his Happiness Highlights below and then check out his blog, I’m sure you will love it as much as I do!
- Going on walks with my dog to start the day right.
- Knowing that I don’t need much in life other than a roof over my head, nutritious food, exercise, love, and rest.
- That moment right after exercise when I’m glad it’s all over, but am also pumped from doing something hard.
- Meeting and networking with awesome people like Suzanne on WordPress.
- Having written.
- Eating my first meal of the day (4 p.m. for me).
- Going to bed knowing I’ve given my day a decent shot.
I look forward to hearing about your happiness highlights. Leave a comment and share something that made you smile recently!
Love the post idea!!
Seeing the moon always always makes me so happy. Every night when I leave office, I stand at this particular window and try to catch the moon. π
I love this! Seeing the moon always makes me happy too.
Spending time at home with my daughters this week because they both have the week off from college. That makes me happy!
That sounds awesome! How nice that they both had off at the same time. I hope you had and continue to have an awesome week with your family.
Yes, the time we can all spend together as a family is limited these days so it was a treat. My husband and I both took the week off work too.
That’s even better! π
I like this post, and I like how your happiness highlights were about spending time with your daughter and also appreciating nature. The leaves are starting to change here; I always enjoy seeing the bright colors! I followed Stuart’s blog, too. Thanks for the referral! An enjoyable blog to read makes me happy, too. π
Fall is such a beautiful time of the year!
I’m glad I helped you find Stuartβs blog. His posts are awesome!
I’m so honoured to be here, Suzanne. Thanks for taking the time to accept my happy moments and listing them here. I can totally see myself feeling happy sharing a bowl of nachos too, btw.
Of course!
Right?! I was already having a great day but the nachos took it up a step!
These are lovely. I particularly love that they are simple things but they truly bring joy. My favorite is sharing the nachos with your girls.
π Yeah, the nachos were great! We happened to run into the food truck and it couldn’t have turned out nicer. We found a nice spot in the grass. Everyone loved the nachos (having all three kids enjoy the same thing doesn’t always happen). And there was no fighting. Plus, I didn’t have to cook. ππ
What a rich life you are choosing to live, Suzanne. We should all follow your example. I enjoyed Stuart’s happiness highlights, as well. Have a laughter-filled weekend! π
You are too kind! It’s amazing how shifting the focus to all the positive stuff can make such an impact. It would be easy to write a list of all the bad stuff that happened during the day, but what’s the point in that? Highlighting the positive can help change one’s perspective of the day and even one’s life!
So far my weekend is off to a great start. I hope yours is as well!
Thank you, and I couldn’t agree more! What we focus on moment by moment becomes the primary focus of our lives, so we sell ourselves short when we focus on the negative! Cheers to the lovely little things that make life rich! π
The moon was pure awesomeness this month!
It was!
